Thermal Imaging
What is Thermal Imaging?
Objects emit different frequencies of light such as visible light, ultra-violet and infra-red light. The infra red spectrum of light changes with temperature and this can be viewed using a thermal imaging camera.
Why Use Thermal Imaging?
- Construction Defects: Thermal imaging can easily detect heat loss and air permeability in a building due to poor construction.
- Pipe Detection: It is difficult to determine the location of pipes in walls and floors; thermal imaging can be used to detect their location.
- Leak Detection: Determining the exact location of a pipe leak in plaster or concrete can be costly and disruptive; with thermal imaging you can find them easily.
- Renovations: The use of thermal imaging technology can be vital before, during and after renovations to ensure the correct construction methods are utilised.
